Setting the Bar
Doug is one of the most experienced and recognized executives in major events. He has 30 years’ experience in developing macro-level event strategies, as well as the overseeing the detailed planning and delivery of the world’s largest sports events.
Doug has held senior leadership positions in 4 organizing committees for the Olympic Games and was the Executive Vice President of World Cup USA 94. He has been an advisor to executive leadership of four other Olympic Games, and planned and managed multiple sport world championships. As Executive Vice President of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG), Doug was responsible for planning and directing all Games operations, for which he was named an Officer of the British Empire and received the IOC Order of Excellence.
Following London 2012, Doug has advised executive leadership of Sochi 2014 and is currently engaged in support of the inaugural European Games Baku 2015, Rio 2016, and the USOC exploration of a 2024 Olympic Games bid.
